Roy has relationships with many of the local agencies after providing years of reliable design and service to this clientele. His experience includes design for buildings, sports fields, street lighting, and solar photovoltaic systems. Roy is a Senior Project Manager as well as the Electrical Department Head for the San Bernardino office. Roy joined the Design West team after working several years with Dream Engineering when the company was bought out in 2009. Roy brought an expertise in electrical applications, including parks and street projects. His greatest sector of work is with municipal clients. Beyond exterior lighting projects, he also has great experience with essential service facilities, community buildings, government operations facilities, aviation buildings, and Federal government projects. His wide-ranging experience includes design for communication towers, generator systems, utility coordination, electrical distribution, communications distribution (copper & fiber optic), commercial buildings, and industrial buildings. Roy is a proven team leader, both in how he runs his teams internally, and how he runs his project teams when working with clients.
For over 8 years, Design West worked on MEP design at the Torrance Transit Center, achieving LEED Gold Certification. Recent projects included MEP for new buildings, retail space TI, restrooms, a grease waste line, and additional gas and power meters.
Design West Engineering renovated Riverside County IT to create East County Alternate EOC. Included data center, generator, office improvements, A/V system.
Design West Engineering handled electrical design for South Gate Park's renovation. Services included lighting upgrades, security lighting retrofit, switchgear replacement, walkway lighting, and circuit installations for tennis courts.
Design West provided electrical and lighting design for Stanton Central Park, incorporating sports lighting, sustainable features, and creating a space for community events to bring people together.
Design West Engineering preserved Leo Carrillo Ranch Park's historical integrity through MEP services, restoring buildings and maintaining their heritage.
Design West Engineering supported Chaffey College's Library and Learning Commons project, providing MEP, fire protection, and technology design. Their involvement ensured a comprehensive plan for design and construction teams.
Design West Engineering supported California Baptist University's Bourns College of Engineering expansion, enhancing the LEED Gold facility with MEP design, fire systems, and exposed MEP systems for student learning. Along with central plant expansion.
