Shannon Stewart, Director of Client Engagement
Shannon is one of Design West Engineering’s biggest advocates. A highly visible and passionate ambassador of DWE, Shannon promotes the expertise, community connection, and spirit of exceptional service signature to the firm. Always pushing the envelope, Shannon has pursued marketing excellence in the Architecture/Engineering/Construction (AEC) industry, receiving Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) accreditation, led the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) Inland Empire Chapter as the President and Director of Programs, and is currently serving as the co-chair of SMPS’s 2025 Pacific Regional Conference. With over 20 years of AEC marketing experience, nearly six of which have been with Design West Engineering, Shannon has been an integral partner in expanding the firm’s regional recognition and client base.

Hector Villalobos, Project Manager
Since joining Design West Engineering in January 2023, Hector has been “all-in”, making a significant impact on all that he’s involved with. Certified in Plumbing Design (CPD) with over 16 years of industry experience, Hector has designed mechanical and plumbing systems for secondary and tertiary care medical facilities throughout Southern California.
As a people-oriented project manager, Hector brings out the best in project teams to spark collaboration and creative approaches resulting in effective engineering solutions that achieve project goals. Mark Galle reinforces Hector’s impact, “His positive impact on projects includes enhancing overall project quality, fostering a collaborative work environment, and driving innovative solutions that save time and resources.” Hector’s technical expertise and leadership puts DWE’s core values into action.
Gabriel Sahagun, Project Manager
Gabriel brings an impressive approach to problem-solving and client management. “Gabe is a great team player that communicates clearly and works well with colleagues, ensuring that everyone is on the same page and that projects run smoothly.”, says Mark Galle.
With an emphasis on K12, higher education, and municipal projects for clients such as the City of Redlands, City of Pomona, Cal State Long Beach, Cuesta College, and Glendale Community College District, Gabriel bridges both technical expertise with collaboration to arrive at functional and cost-effective solutions designed to last. As a California State Polytechnic University-Pomona graduate, Gabriel’s tested engineering know-how has translated to project and client care excellence at DWE.
