ACE Mentor is a program to get students involved in the AEC industry. Program leaders facilitate the program, guiding student teams of 15-25 with the support of volunteer mentors—industry professionals. These mentors lead the students through mock design projects, offering insights into careers, industry terminology, and the various roles within the construction field.
The ACE Mentor Inland Empire recently hosted a graduation ceremony, celebrating the achievements of more than 100 students from five different schools. At the event, the students showcased the projects they had diligently worked on throughout the program. Every participant received a certificate of completion, recognizing their dedication to the ACE Mentor Program and the valuable skills they acquired. Additionally, certain outstanding students were granted scholarships in acknowledgment of their exceptional efforts during the semester. The ACE Mentor Program continues to inspire and prepare young minds for rewarding careers in the ACE industry, fostering a community of creativity and mentorship that contributes to building a brighter future.
Design West has served in mentoring and board leadership capacity for the last 6 years. Our staff mentored students at Santiago High School, and we continue to partner with the ACE program through recruiting talent with internships after the conclusion of the program.
