Each day of the week, the San Bernardino Valley College Child Development Center provides an opportunity for students with young children to continue pursuing their higher education goals by providing a safe and warm childcare environment for their kids.  Every year, the Child Development Center staff gather donated gifts and host a day with Santa for these kiddos, ensuring that all these kids will have gifts at home for Christmas. For a third year in a row, Design West Engineering hosted the annual toy drive for this event with huge support from industry partners like SVA Architects, SGH Architects, Holt Architecture, Leighton and others.  To top it off, members of the Design West team joined Santa on gift delivery day as Buddy the Elf and Jovie. A total of 165 toys were donated.

Design West also participated in a second toy drive, this time with Path of Life Ministries. Path of Life Ministries seeks to help those experiencing homelessness and provide wraparound services to promote self-sufficiency & family restoration. Design West and our industry partners donated 146 toys and $1,870 in gift cards to benefit the families served by the program. Families are invited to “shop” for their children so that every child receives a gift to open on Christmas Day. Our team also helped assemble gift bags for the adults in the shelter who are frequently forgotten during the holiday season.
