RCCD built a new educational center at the Riverside County Ben Clark Public Safety Training Center. The project included classrooms, labs, and administration areas. Design West Engineering incorporated energy-efficient designs with VRF systems & solar PV.

RCCD constructed a new educational center for Moreno Valley College that is located at the Riverside County Ben Clark Public Safety Training Center. This new facility is a $10.9M project that is self funded through Measure C and eliminated the need for leased operational space.
The ground up 14,000 SF facility included classrooms, administration, media center, 4 emergency medical support labs, flexible space, and additional support areas. Design criteria included exceeding Title 24 Energy Codes by 15%. To help achieve this goal, Design West Engineering based designs around a VRF system and also coordinated a Solar PV system on the roof to supplement power. Special accommodations in the EMS labs included oxygen piping and services for medical training mannequins.
Project achieved DSA approval in 2020. Occupancy occurred in 2022.
