About the Project

ESRI formerly the Environmental Systems Research Institute, is a GIS software development company including web GIS and geodatabase management applications. Headquartered in Redlands, California, ESRI is the largest employer in the city. The corporate campus of 22 buildings is similar in size to that of a small college campus. The facilities group generally executes projects on accelerated schedules and requires a high level of customer service from their design and builder partners. Additionally, the company ownership is committed to sustainable design approaches that improve the efficiency and longevity of their buildings.

With over 320,000 square feet new construction, build outs, and modifications across the ESRI corporate campus and having experience at over 15 of their buildings, Design West Engineering has been a long time trusted consultant. Some notable phases of campus improvements have included the ground up three story 70,000 SF Building Q executive headquarters building; complete HVAC retrofits at Buildings F, H, L, and O; tenant improvements at Building W; two new central plants to support expansions; various remodels and upgrades at Buildings A, F, J, M, U, V, and Café; solar photovoltaic systems on the roofs of multiple buildings; and various exterior lighting upgrades.

Design West Engineering continues to support ESRI in multiple design efforts on and off the headquarters campus by understanding the clients needs surrounding schedule, customer service, and sustainability. Each project that aligns to these goals continues to expand this relationship that has lasted over 15 years.
