In 2020, Victor Valley Union High School District retained a design team to modernize the Silverado High School campus which was originally constructed in 1995 to serve the growing high desert region. After 25 years of campus use, the high school now required several energy and ADA upgrades.
Design West Engineering provided MEPFT services for modernization of 7 buildings totaling 202,000 SF including of the admin building, 4 classroom buildings, performing arts, and the gymnasium. Project included a campus-wide replacement of HVAC systems, addition of 800kW of solar photovoltaic shade structures, upgrade to fire alarm and technology, replacement of drop ceilings in classrooms, and other various ADA and component upgrades throughout campus.
